Anybody know who made this 3-piece .44 cal. bullet swage? Factory? Home-made? I've had it 25+ years and have used it for .44-77 and .44-100 Maynard.

It makes a nice .435" PP bullet:

Too bad the Wyoming Schuetzen Union forum folded.  There were some participants who knew a lot about old bullet swages.

I have seen a couple, but they were marked (stamped) with the maker's name & a reference # relating the swage to the barrel for which the bullets were intended.

Does the swaging process leave ridges or edges?

"Does the swaging process leave ridges or edges?"

Just what you see  between the cylindrical part and the ogive. Also...if you try to swage down a bullet much larger than .44 cal., you can get fins at the base.
