McGowen Barrels, which is one of the favored suppliers by at least one of our well-known gunsmiths on this forum, has been making some significant changes over the past year, or so. Per one of their owners on another forum, they will be producing cut-rifle barrels by the end of the year to compete with the likes of Kreiger, Bartlein, etc. Am guessing that they will be starting with .224, 6.5mm, 7mm & 30cal barrels for the high power crowd, but one can always ask. If modern machinery, can be easily programmed to produce about anything anyone wants (like gain-twist).

Good to know! FWIW a very accomplished benchrest shooter at one of my clubs uses nothing but McGowen barrels and his groups are incredible!

I've also noticed that their bluing is just about the best I've seen outside of the Colt custom shop! And that was their standard gloss blue efforts.

All of my single shots shoot one tiny ragged hole with cast bullets ... it's just the following shots that tend to open up my groups Wink ...

I have two 50 cal coming in a few days to build a couple of pumpkin rollers (50-70). I almost cancelled the order when my customer backed out but called back and accepted them(wasn't there fault) he did so and I did order them. Very understanding folks.
