Hi, Randolph Wright's book "Loading and Shooting Traditional Schuetzen Rifles" has info on barrel clamps. Great book. Dale.

Kinda like you and a Red Flyer snow sled, it works better when the two of you move together in the same direction at the same time. It's when you go in different directions that things go awry.

Hank it needs to be firmly installed as in not being able to move at all. So tight would be the correct approach. Correct placement needs to be determined by the target in order to locate the exact node in the barrels vibration cycle. You want the bullet to exit at the very top of the up cycle at the muzzle. When I get a chance I will send you a PM on something I don't feel comfortable about sharing here.
