Providence tool Turkish Martini - ID of markings?

I recently acquired a Turkish Peabody-Martini.  It has the Providence markings on the left side of the receiver, andis chambered for .43 Turkish.  However, while bearing the Turkish inspection markings on most parts, it does seem to never have reached Turkey.  For 1 thing, the rear sight is not graduated in Turkish numerals, but in Western script

And then there's these markings on the stock.  anyone know what they are?  Could these be some kind of militia markings maybe?

I'm especially referring to the Q(?) P.P. 5 marking, the other one is a Turkish one.

For the rest, the rifle seems to completely conform to Turkish spec, except for the absence of the Turkish serial no.  I'm guessing this one could be one of the rifles held as collateral, and later sold  locally...

Just for reference, below an overall pic of the rifle:

Can you post a close up of the receiver markings? Nice looking rifle and looks to be in real good shape, should be a good shooter.

Hello Gert,

The Turkish numbering system is roughly the same as ours in that they use the numbers 0 to 10. Then they get strange. However numbers in leaps of 10 appear to be written the same as ours  i.e. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 etc. Whilst the attached chart does not show figures like 100, 150,  200,  250 etc., I have little doubt that Arabic numbers wouldn't be too difficult to understand even to a less intelligent 'squaddie'

Harry,

While their numbering system seems to be the same, the marking of the digits isn't - I put this link to a table on Keith Doyen's site (militaryrifles.com), and his site also has some pics of the sight markings on 'real' turkish rifles:

And what's more:  the P.P. 5 is definitely not Arabic script...
