What does it take to convert a flat spring high wall breech block to coil spring? To me it looks like drilling a pair of holes. Is there more to it?

If you retain the flat spring to hold the lever up, you'll need a coil spring hammer. If it's got a set trigger, you'll need one with a fly.        Good Luck,          ...MIKE...

FITZ has a rifle that is a super fine performer using both mainsprings!  He told me it wouldn't shoot as well if he left out either spring, so he has a flat-spring type hammer and a coil spring type breech block and shoots it about as well offhand as I do sitting down most days!  Shocked  Maybe he will chime in and tell us about it.  Wink

In case I'm not the only one interested, I did come across a reference to this issue. On page 75 of Campbells first book on 85s there is reference to just drilling the two holes.
