Nice sequence Joe.  I like the way you put it on in one piece.  Result is a big improvement.

And the first thing I noticed was the lever!  Is that one of Shelton's castings or did somebody else make a copy of the Walker lever as well?

It's not my eye, Joe, it's my little froggie fingers!   They fit that lever better than any other lever ever made.  I could feel it right through the screen!  I  bought one of his first ones for my take-down high-wall and now I am more comfortable with that style than anything else.  I just scored one for my FrankenBallard as well.

I havent seen ole Dave Shelton for years.  Last time I talked to him he was heavy into high dollar double scatterguns. Daves a trip. The last time I saw him he was at the gunshow. He was sitting at a table with but one item on the table, a #6 Ideal powder measure. I asked him if thats all he had for sale and he told me it wasnt for sale. Then he told me I couldnt afford it. He never made eye contact with me. He spotted a guy carrying some old doubles and he was off like a shot.  Daves wheels were really turning that day. Huh

I have a phone number but dont know if its okay to give it out. And I dont know if it's current.

I'll PM it to you QB.   Wink

Thanks Boats, I appreciate the compliment.

I think it looks better too despite the lines. And it sure does fit a lot lot better.  I'm glad I finally got my butt in gear and did it.  Smiley

Joe,

Don't be concerned about the lines. They are honest. most of what you see today is not.

If you're worried about the graft lines just darken up the stock a bit and they'll all but disappear. Pretty fine job if you ask me.
