I just followed the various links mentioned in the thread on buttplates in the for sale/trade area and got my eyes opened. I had not thought of checking the various rifles winchester made for sizes of buttplates. While I have one or two from hi/low walls, and 94s and 92s I hadn't realized there were other sizes on other rifles. The one that goes over five inches from a 52 (why did I sell mine!!) is of  particular interest.  Does anyone know of a source of information on the dimensions of the various steel buttplates Winchester put on its various rifles?
