Boats,

     Randy has moved and I don't think he has a website any more, just an e-mail address.  I'll see if I can find it and forward it to you.  BTW, all the info including his name is wrong in the new Journal, apparently that info got transposed with another address and he is out West.

Boats, I sent you an e-mail with an old mailing list.  Anybody else wanting to reach Randy Davis at the 310 Shop may want to e-mail him at;

                      The310ShopATaolDOTcom

He was beginning to have dies made in the more requested, long discontinued calibers from Lyman/Ideal.

CORRECTION  Randy has sold out to somebody in Texas named Rick.  I am trying to get in touch with him now and will get back to you when I find a good address for him.

Sorry about the old info!   Undecided

Yep, that's it!!  Wink BTW, I have been told by somebody who did it a lot that since these dies neck size only, you can use the available .25-20 WCF dies to load .25-20 SS as well.  I see that Rick is planning on releasing some that are marked .25-20 SS, however, so the problem should not last too long anyway.  Cheesy

Froggie,

Do you have any idea if the 25-20 WCF seating die will support the 25-20 SS case well enough to seat a bullet without damage?

Terry,

     Bear in mind that I haven't done it myself, but I was told by the old timer from whom I bought a bunch of antique reloading gear and a bunch of .25-20 SS ammo that he had loaded that caliber on his Tru-Line Sr press (the thing that looks like a multi-stage arbor press) using .25-20 WCF dies.  YMMV and I am just reporting what I was told, but he had done a lot of reloading and seemed knowledgeable about it.  Keep in mind that none of the 310 tool/T-L Jr dies support the case during seating but so much.  Sorry I can't provide more definitive help.

Thanks for the reply Froggie.  I have been unsuccessfully chasing after some used 25-20 SS dies, hoping to avoid the high cost of new ones, but they are pretty scarce.  Your post related to using the 25-20 WCF dies caught my eye and it made sense that using them to neck size only would work.  Since I would not be using the reloaded cases in multiple rifles, not being able to full length resize had no impact.  I assume the cases would last much longer also Cheesy.  I think it's worth finding a cheap used set of 25-20 WCF dies to try.  Thanks for bringing up the subject Froggie.  Terry

Since they don't full leingth size 310 dies can be caliber switched in many cases.  While I looking for 45 LC  45 ACP work just fine.  In fact better since my Colt is the newer 452. not the old 454 diamater.  Also load all the 30 cals with the same die.  219 zipper I used to use a 22-250 set.

Good dodge is to Clean De-cap and F/L size in 7/8 inch presses then do the rest with the 310 tool.

Boats,

While I would like to have a 310, I was thinking more along the lines of using some cheap used 25-20 WCF dies in my old RCBS Jr press to neck size and seat bullets in my 25-20 SS cases.  I just got outbid on what looks like a reatively nice Ideal #4 in 25-20 SS a few minutes ago...dang snipers  Angry...Terry

Tar-Baby,

Thanks very much for doing that.  It looks like an alternative to the expensive, unobtainium, 25-20 SS dies.  Now I need to snare some inexpensive used 25-20 WCF dies.  Thanks again for your help.
