Today I bought a NEW-UNFIRED in the box Martini ISU model, it seems to be all the right numbers 28 inch barrel .850 Dia and marked ISU but It does NOT have the ISU mark on the right side of the receiver. The left side is stamped Freeland, Rock Island, Ill. The box is from Freeland--WHY is the frame not marked ISU--serial #FG 2614.  leadball

Lucky you! Congrats and welcome to the dark side! Do I understand correctly the barrel is marked ISU but the frame is not? All of the ISU's I've seen do not have ISU stamped on the barrel, only the receiver. Freeland had some deals with BSA and bought actions only and put his stocks on them and others complete rifles with his name stamped "somewhere" on them. I've never tracked it further. What is the sight setup? Tube, Parker-Hale, Redfield? Is it drilled and tapped for a scope mount? Did it have the two stock spacer plates? Adjustable buttplate? Details man, details! If not, bring it to the shoot saturday so I can get some pics of it for the "collection".

Leadball - my ISU is #FH0125 - left handed of course - the barrel is marked BSA England and the caliber.  The left side of the frame says International ISU and the right Feeland - Rock Island, IL  made in England.  r u going to make the shoot?  I will probably be there around 1700-1730 Fri eve for a while.  I have a memorial service to go to Sat afternoon so probably will not be the Sat at all. - rimfire

MI-Shooter;
               This Martini has the adjustable buttplate and spacers, it is set-up for a Unertl or Lyman -no front target base but drilled and tapped for one. It came from Champion Shooters in Columbus [sold on consignment] and was in a Freeland box.
               I wonder [just guessing] if the very last of the Internationals could have been marked as a MKV and then if it was to become an ISU the barrel marked according.  leadball

Mk V's were not marked "Mk V". Just "BSA Martini International" on the right side. If you are coming this weekend, bring it along and we'll look her over.

mi-shooter;
              I meant this rifle is marked AS a MKV - it is marked BSA International on the right side. I'll bring the rifle to Etna Green my next visit. Another Question=  the receiver is about 1/8 inch more narrow than my MK111, is that correct.  leadball

Not fair you guys. I was at Mac Tilton's place in Tahoe a couple years ago and he had a wall full of these things. I was tempted then, and now I'm tempted again. Might have to take a drive.
