Ballard trigger

Hello to All;
I have been viewing the Single shot rifle discussions on here for a short time now. Being able to gleam some nice info on different rifles. So I figured that it is about time I joined. The reason for this post is to see if anyone has any ideas where to find a trigger for a Ballard rifle ? I just bought my 2nd one from a good friend as a project. It is missing the extractor and the trigger. I have two extractors on order from The Rifle Shoppe. But a trigger is no where to be found. I can make a new one. But would prefer not to. Any help would be greatly appreciated !

I have been looking for Ballard parts also. Our best supplier was Rodney Storie who did castings of the best quality but he retired and sold his business. Other option is Rifle Shop who won't answer the phone or return a call. I was advised by a gentleman who posts here regularly to obtain a set of drawings from the ASSRA archives and make my own parts. So far I have machined a set of breech blocks, set triggers, plate, and sear. A single trigger would take a little time but is doable even without machines. One other thing I would suggest is keep an eye on eBay. Things pop up on occasion. Also place an add in the wanted/ for sale section here. I just picked up a stock here today. Someone out there could possibly have some parts.

Besides asking in a WTB ad here in the for sale section, I'd check Ebay frequently. They do show up occasionally, but stuff like Ballard parts go quickly unless they're overpriced.

It's beyond my capability but I'm surprised that no one has created digitized files and made a run of internal parts from stacks of tool steel cut by wire EDM, etc including extractors that could then be put in a jig, heated and forged to shape and Links with different center to center spacing to adjust headspace.

I agree with Scott. With the advances in manufacturing technology, you would think parts would become more economical to make.  Most likely our market is just too small to justify the time to do the initial steps required to make them. Once done it would probably take only a day to make enough Ballard triggers to satisfy demand for years to come.

People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.

Demand drives almost all production, and there's just not enough demand for the vast majority of Ballard parts.
I'm still wondering what happened to all the Ballard parts when that Michigan farmer bought Ballard Rifle Co. in 2008 and then folded a year or so later? He had to have some inventory, and none of it has ever hit the market for sale. And nobody seems to know this guy and can tell us where it is.

Small batch runs of any kind of part especially EDM work is extremely expensive. That is probably why no one has done it. I wish they would cause it would sure solve my problem...
