Somebody ought to write a book titled "Doctor Schuetzen - or how I learned to stop worrying and love the .32-40."

Definitely my favorite. I only have 6 however.  I now need a DST 32-40 with at least a 14 twist barrel. Not a collectable unless it already has scope blocks cause it need them.

Come to think of it, I don't have a Winchester 32-40 with double sets either.  Embarrassed

I have 2 but none with scope blocks.  You said you would take me out of your will if I drilled and taped the Post Falls high wall.  The other is the Pope and you know I would get excommunicated if I mess with the Pope.

I'm surprised that you guys don't have a dst highwall in .32-40.  I have one but I've never got around to shooting it.  It's an original schuetzen rifle with a Zischang barrel.  It was drilled and tapped for Stevens scope bases but one of the holes has a broken screw and I have no idea where I'd find Stevens blocks and screws.  It has the original rear sight but the apperture is so tiny that it's nearly impossible to see through.  I just take it out of the safe now and then, oil it and watch it Smiley.  It holds really nice even with a very heavy 32" barrel.

I am surprised that Wes doesn’t have a 38-70 high wall. He is a badass though. He is a goat roper and a nipple shooter. Don’t cross him or he may rope all your goats.

38-55, she's good enough for this goat roper.

Yes, I found a horde of nipple snapper ammo recently. I remember they shot good but don't remember what rifle they were used in. They really snapple when they hit the target.

I currently own 2 high walls in 32-40, one a completely put together takedown in Laudensack configuration (give or take) with a Green Mtn barrel Lyman 20X STS scope, and Ben Rice DSTs.
The other is in original configuration as a Plain Sporting Rifle with original SSTs.  Yes, I do love them both and the Sporter is going to Oak Ridge to shoot in the Classic Single Shot match. Load=185 gr bullet over 13.5 gr of 4759.  Smiley
