The 500F melt Pewter is what a new Pewter spoon will be made of these days. No lead in the alloy.
You can buy all the new pewter spoons you want plus other pewter items from here:

If I wanted a spoon that would melt in boiling water, I'd have to cast one out of one of the Low Temp Melt Alloys.  
The above link has the molds as well.

I wouldn't call it Pewter, or even a new(er) pewter alloy because they aren't. 

But they do work beautifully for casting the forend tips though!
