The elusive "Cats Whisker Spring"

Working on a Miller as it had Extractor problems.  Burrs caused it to hang up.  Upon assembly it wouldn't engage the Rim.  Found the little spring on the bench.  Now to get it back in place.  Just the Slave Pin holding it for now.  David

The one on the Right came with the rifle.  One on the left is for another Miller.  So somebody reshaped the lower portion and, maybe, added the Spring 🤔.  Going to add a little JB Weld to build it up as a trial...

Duct Tape to the Rescue!  Brought the Extractor up to where it catches the Rim.  If the Case is fully Chambered the extractor won't clear on closing 🤔.  So got part of the problem figured out.  Now for anyone who knows Millers, should the Extractor in position be resting on the Pin or the Cam of the Lever?  David
