	I recently purchased a beautiful Garrett Sharps 1863 Carbine in 45-70 The extractor has a small protrusion which blocks the cartridge unless I toggle it forward. I am reading that this was deliberate and an attempt at a safety on the 1863 by Palmetto Arms Is this true? I apologize that I cannot seem to reduce the photos I took

	I have one and my extractor comes back when the lever is opened and pushes forward when the cartridge is seated. It has no "protrusions," as such, that impede this procedure.

	If it's the lever spring does the lever kind of flop around and not stay tight to the lower tang?
