Need some help figuring out what model this rifle is.  I figure its a Ladies model of some sort but that's about as far as I can get.  Have more pictures if need be.  Its a 22 lr.

This appears to be an especially deluxe version of a Stevens Model 55 Ladies Rifle - full etched action "engraving"; very elaborate cheek piece; factory full length Malcom scope; tang sight now missing  (Is the Beach front sight, standard for this model, still there?) - in very, very nice condition.  The slightly later Model 56 Ladies Rifle, built on the 044-1/2 action, could be had with set triggers; the Model 55. built on the Model 1894 Favorite action, could not (or at least I've never seen or heard of one).  All-in-all, just a super find.  Congratulations!

Thanks, Bill.  I’ve read all I could find and just ended up more confused.  It belongs to a friend.  I think he will want to sell it.  He collects Ballards but not Stevens.

If your friend plays the sale right, he should get enough money for his Stevens to buy a very nice Ballard.  Have him check sales results on the internet.

That's a head scratcher. The standard Ladies model did not have a cheekpiece and used a different checkering pattern but they did use the S style lever. They were built on both the 44 and 441/2 action with an endless number  of options available so who knows? If it's any help my Favorite Ladies rifle has EX stamped on the front of the receiver behind the forend. At any rate it's a beautiful rifle and I would say very nice things about you if you gave it to me.
