	I recently came into a bunch of loose, bagged cartridges with most of it common stuff that's easy to sell or give away but some of it is interesting. There's a bunch of original black powder 40/65, 38/40, 33 Winchester etc. but I don't know what to do with them. I sold all of the 22 Maynard centerfire here on the forum but to legally mail them I had to pull the bullets and dump the powder and de-prime them. I'm wondering if it's worth it to try to sell them here for the brass and bullets or are they just a curiosity with no real value other than nostalgia.

	Last year I bought a pond of unique. Thought it would be sent the legal way. Sent bu USPS. got in touch with multiple people, inspector. They didn’t give a shit. And if you go to the post office and look at the big flyer about what you can’t send it says nothing about ammo, bullets gunpowder etc.

	I thought loaded ammo can be shipped without a hasmat label. Only powder and primers need hazmat .

	I live in the last bastion of freedom in the country where for the good of the people one can not sell ammo without an FFL and the buyer must undergo a background check for each purchase and all for an additional fee of $2.50 to the state per transaction. But it's o.k. because it's good to know that we're making the streets safer from criminals. The only downside is that it makes my selling live ammo problematic.

It can be shipped without a hazmat label, but it needs to have a small arms label to be legal. That involves no fees, just the label. But it has to also get shipped ground, so just just putting it in a package and shipping UPS is illegal. And if you ship it USPS it's illegal no matter what you do. When they ask those four questions and one of them is if it's "hazardous" and you said "No", you just lied to USPS, which could result in a felony. 	There was just a big discussion on a FB group I belong to about the shipping deal and all I know is what I was told by the head person at our nearest UPS hub and at the USPS after I emailed them AND talked to the postmaster at our PO. And as always there is confusion due to people talking about what someone got away with vs what is legal so let's get this straight LEGALLY,,, an individual cannot ship powder, primers, or primers brass or loaded ammunition via UPS. Anyone who has done it either had a goofball at the counter who didn't know their job OR they didn't tell them what was in the package. Only a business that has the proper credentials etc may ship them and they MUST be picked up at the place of business. USPS, loaded ammo 100% NO way Primers and primed brass, 100% no way Black powder, 100% no way Smokeless propellants, I have been told bold ways 100%=NO way and that shipping 1Lb or less may be OK if properly labeled via some small quantity exemption.?? That's just what I was told men after being refused by both to ship a couple boxes of collectible 22LR.

	Hooray for the mis-information highway. As I am pondering selling some 303 ammo, I checked with UPS and it is OK to ship loaded ammunition through them. You do have to have a sticker on the box which identifies it as loaded ammunition, but there is no hazmat fee. I don't know about FedX as I never use them. Shipping ammunition through the USPS is definitely not permitted. George

	All this is fine, I'm aware of the rules but none of this answers my question as to whether this ammo has any value or not.
