Print Post
SPF.  Antique Marlin Ballard match rifle chambered in .22LR, serial # 12365, with 26 ¼” barrel.  It has no iron sights and weighs 8 3/4 lb.  Straight-grip, forged, “two-line” maker’s mark (half-missing so had to be re-applied).  Has no half-cock but does have a bushed firing-pin dovetail.  Barrel is a .22LR Douglas Premium Air-Gaged match-grade barrel with match chamber.  Butt stock and forend made from Turkish Walnut and patterned from picture of the Ballard # 6 ½ Off-Hand Rifle you see on page 190 in Dutcher’s book.  Very smooth, tight action.  Shoots very well, see 249-point target from 2018 International Schuetzenfest match - - this rifle shot many 50-shot bench-rest upper-1220’s to 1233 scores with SK Rifle Match ammo.  $1875.00.  $75 insured shipping directly to buyer with proof of 21 years old.

If for some reason the deal falls through, I’d like to be second in line.

Grin Grin Good One Scott!!!  I'll use that one.
Are you bringing it to Raton the end of this month?  It needs to be shot there again...

No, I'll be in VA for my youngest grandson's baptism and 1st birthday has me committed to the east coast about then.
I'm looking to a lighter offhand rifle.

Knowing this seller I'd guarantee it was his work. But he's not doing it anymore that I know of. I own several Ballard rifles he did long ago and case colors and wood are all like this gun's.

I'm in the dark here. I do not know who pinwheel is. Maybe someone could toss me a bone here?
