A first for me. Turns out I have several sights with this malady. I assumed all this time they screwed into the staff. I always wondered how they timed them so perfectly.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

A little permanent Loctite will fix that quick.

If you don't have Loctite than a little baling wire should do the trick!   Cheesy

Green Permatex or Loctite bearing retainer does wonders on holding shafts in holes.

Many years ago I repaired one by laying the round piece the elevating screw goes through on a piece of lead sheet then I used a slightly dull pin point punch and tapped lightly in the middle to swell the little pin that goes through the ladder. Didn't take much to expand it. Wasn't a high quality sight so I wasn't worried too much. Still holding today and the only tell tale sign is the slight dent in the pin. Locktite is much easier but didn't have any at the time.
