Some Hepburn help needed

Print Post
Last week in trying to take apart my failing Hepburn, I realized I have never taken one down to parts and pieces.
The problem; during the last 100 shots, the trigger got very light to the point a cocked hammer let go by itself!  (very exciting)
I thought I would take the action apart, ...buttstock off, block out, same for the mainspring, remove the four screws that hold the lower tang/trigger bow and have a see.

I got that far and the lower tang does not drop out. What am I massing? I don't want to force anything.

I am hoping the innards are just dirty and not broken.

Remove the lever and spring assembly. It will give you more access to remove the trigger assembly…..
I believe it’s just stuck…

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Good video, but I was sure surprised at all the grease he puts inside his Hepburn! Don't think I've ever used that much grease in any of mine, or any other rifle I owned either
