I never was much for chicken, but one of my aunts sometimes came out of the pen with two live ones at a time. Wrung the necks by twirling them around. I used to wonder if she could juggle. I like rabbit, maybe Jack could try that fried or stew. Make gun cases out of the skins and give 'em to Joe for his muskets.

I used a long drop tube as well..

From my old notes:
.2 compression
32 inch drop tube

45-70
72 gr. Swiss 1 1/2 (#4)
515 grains Brooks mould 457125 --- 20/1
Wax wad
AVG Velocity 1205 fps
Extreme Spread 18 fps
Standard Deviation 6
Case full length sized,
Fixed ammo, slight taper crimp
Blow tube only between shots
First fowler shot excluded from averages.
Fed GM 150M primers
From the bench rest;
20 shot group.. 1 1/4" 100 yards

I have been using a long drop tube for years with good results. I am superstitious and follow the same technique every time. I have a compression ‘ruler’ on my Lee hand press that allows me to separate cases with depths out of the norm. I will try your test today and show photos and results. Fried chicken for dinner again. I always sacrifice a chicken as part of my BP loading process as well.

Jack
