Haenel Original Aydt early tests

I'm just beginning load development in a nice Haenel Original Aydt in 8.15 x 46R. 190 grain tapered 5 grease groove bullets from a Hoch nose pour mold, 25:1 alloy, 50% Lee Alox/50% concentrated Johnson's Paste Wax lube. I'm using a .32-40 push seater to start the bullet in the throat, then using a plugged case to seat the bullet barely in front of the case mouth. Using 12.5 grains of IMR 4227-and reject bullets that I would normally throw back in the pot-for fire forming, I had 11 of 13 in the small orange of a 100 yard target at 100 yards once I adjusted POI. I'm happy to report that it's starting out every bit as fun as I hoped. I'd like to thank all the great folks at the Beeson Range events this Spring-October for their help, friendliness and encouragement every time I showed up. I was only able to compete with my Ballard .22 this year, but should finally be shooting this Aydt and a .33-47 High Wall come next season. Oops-3 shot group was with good .32-40 bullets from Mike Creager and 12.5 of 4227. I'll see if I can add the fire forming loads target I referenced earlier. If not, I'll have some much better ones soon anyway!  Wink  Special thanks to Mike Creager, Richard Zorin, Bob Keller, Jerry Nordmann, Roger Henderson, Alan Shore, Jim Rowe and Fred, Phil and Jim Anderson. What a great bunch of characters-er, I mean guys!
