Tell you what Joe.  If Bob can find a nurse, then you should be able to provide the Jet with a pilot.

I'm the poor guy Jack. You land your Learjet at the airport in Idaho Falls and I'll take you the rest of the way in my Lincoln free of charge. Bob will have the nurse waiting for you at Raton.

I do, I do, I have one. I'm ready to go!!! At 81, I'm ready to go, in more ways than one!

I'll even help her get ready for you when you get back from a relay. I'm a good buddy!!

I'll even pitch in $20 for jet fuel Smiley

You see, you see how the rest of us struggle. Frank is offering his last twenty dollars to you, Jack.

The humanity......

My advanced directive is to only use mouth to mouth resuscitation coupled with chest to chest compression.  Apply frequently just in case I am having trouble breathing.

Seeing the outpouring of assistance these men are extending to you Jack, I find myself hunting for another $20 to add in. I'd just like her to check my pulse now and then if you don't mind.

OK, back to the original subject on this thread.

I took the DST back to the range this morning in quirky wind conditions with 4 different 30-1 bullets since the mould that shot the original group got sod by someone.  The clear winner was a Hoch 323-185 that weighed 187 gr.

It shot this 200 yd 1.4" group with the same powder charge as the original bullet.

I a enjoying iron sights again.

Jack, what is written on the target under your group? Looks like shorty 90 4100 Your bullets are still tipping a little.

Did you know the BP BR prize is 1000.00 at Raton this year? That would buy jet fuel.  Smiley

Nice shooting Jack.  Do you know the make of the barrel on that nifty little highwall?

How much taper does the Hoch have?

You really need to try raising the powder charge up about a 1/2 gr. Your in the transonic zone at the target and that's what is causing the tipping.

Wes,

Those markings are my shorthand.  I drove down and marked the group and took a photo just in case I put another shot from another bullet into it.  'Shorty' is my nickname for that bullet, 4100 is for Accurate 4100 and 90 is the Harrel's measure setting which for 4100 is 11.6 gr.

Chris,
It is an original #4 weight Winchester 16 twist barrel.

Frank,

The bullet stats I have are:
length .983
Base Band .323
Front band  .317
Flat point

I wanted to see what bullet performed best at the setting that worked last outing.

Now I will cast 100 or so and try your suggestion.

First I have to R&R that mould as bullets tend to stick.

Jack

Your bullet diameters are a little off, Jack.
