I do have some Lee molds specifically for their liquid alox that are pistol bullet molds and use the liquid alox on them with good results. But I so rarely shoot pistols these days that I haven't even cast for them in a decade.

bpjack  Thanks. I used to use it years ago and switched to a Darr lube, then experimented with others. Thinking I will return to Javalina and save some time fiddling around with no noticeable improvement after all these years.

Thanks marlinguy, made a note to have them notify me when back in stock. Apparently more in demand than it used to be.

Our very own V.P., Mike Kazulka make it and distributes it through various outlets.  He's critter68 here on the forum.

Hey Joe. I had Emailed Mike K. about the Javalina...He said CPA now makes and sells all of it.  So there ya go guys.....After Russ Weber jumped on me over 20 years ago and said ...quit screwing around Pete, just buy Javalina and be done with it...words of Wisdom.

May the Bullet Gods be with you.......

Just for the record, the original lube was called Smiley Lube. I used it starting in the early '90's.

Jessie Smiley was the originator of it.

Thanks for the information. I thought it was just a current version of the old NRA formula Javelena brand  from years ago.

The current Javelina Schuetzen (which I use exclusively in the schuetzen game) is 75/25 beeswax/Alox - am I right? The old NRA 50/50 formula, evinced by the original Javelina and others, was/is 50/50 beeswax/Alox. A noticeable difference in texture, smell, and taste.

I have a three-lifetime stash of original Javelina that I use for literally everything except 100-200yd .32-40, etal, plain base cast bullet shooting. I too experimented with all manner of lubes - old and new, sweet and smelly, good and bad - and came to the conclusion that good old 50/50 Javelina was as good as needs be. Jeez, I'm still sitting on a tub full of ingredients - anybody need any steam cylinder oil, Japan Wax, or Ozocerite, haha?!
