There's a Hepburn on Gunbroker right now. Description says it's in 38 Colt short which I think might be in error, but, anyway, the really strange thing is the tang sight. I've never seen one like it. I'd be curious to hear what you all have to say.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Auction states it's a modern built tang sight, and I agree that it's modern. Some machinist or crafty hobby gunsmith put a lot of work into making something with a ton of windage in it!
I also think the .38 Short Colt description is likely wrong. More likely it's just the old .38 Long CF cartridge.

Well I guess Kelly is a pretty talented sight maker! Never knew the Goodwin sight even existed.

That’s definitely not the Pedersoli version. I have one sitting in one of my parts bins.

I do have a Goodwin style sight but much better then the Pedrosoli one. The one I have was made by Ron Snover Its a good solid sight.

And it could be a Remington 38-40.

Ron Snover made one similar, had it on a Hiwall he built for Allen O'Dell (RIP)
made wiping between shots easier for BPCR, so the sight isn't moved

The main reason for that design was for use of cleaning rod and not
Have to move the sight in the back position. The one on gun for sale
Is pedersoli. Goodwin is much better . But have only seen pictures
Of it.
