Here you go: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
That would be a 10.8mm bore.

Hopefully someone will be along who is more familiar with that cartridge enumerating system than I but, I don't believe you have a 10.8 caliber Schuetzen rifle.  That's slightly over 40 caliber.  The most common is the 8.15 X 46R and I think the 'spud' size for that caliber is 108.  As always, I am subject to correction.

Make a chamber cast that includes 3/4 - 1" of the bore.

sharps4590, if you'll look at the link I posted you'll see that the 11.15x49R is a target cartridge. Maybe it was for one of those contests where they shoot at a target on top of a pole until they blow it lose. A larger caliber/hole would give an advantage. That sounds like a Swiss target game. Ken is it for sure German or could it be Swiss?

The early scheutzen rifles were quite often .40 calibers. That was a hold over from muzzleloader days when most ML scheutzen rifles were .40 calibers. I have several Ballard factory scheutzen rifles chambered in .40-63 Ballard. I thought it was an odd choice when I bought the first one, but after seeing many I figured it out.

And so I stand corrected!

I know of the shooting game where the target is shot from a pole but I also cannot remember the name

You really need a chamber cast.  However, just for speculative purposes, it could be the old 10.5 X 47R cartridge and I believe there was also a 10 X 47R.  Both were based on the 11.15 X 60R Mauser.  I believe all the 47mm length cases were used as target cartridges as one variety or another.  I've just never seen one in a Schuetzen rifle.

If it should turn out to be either the 10 or 10.5 I believe I can help.  I have a Jost & Diehl combination gun in 16 by 10.5 X 47R that I worked up a load for and wrote an article published in Waidmannsheil, issue #60, Spring 2017.

Is your rifle Nitro proofed?  I'm pretty sure all the Stahl, 47mm cartridges started life as BP cartridges.
