Tang sight project

Hello everyone!

I am posting this more for its entertainment value than its educational value, but there is something here that you might be able to use if you are making tang sights.
I saw Larry Potterfield's video on making a tang sight a few years ago and decided that I should give it a try. I made one using my lathe and a milling attachment. About a year later I obtained a benchtop milling machine and decided to make a windage adjustment for the sight. I made all the dimensions extra large to allow for erasing mistakes, which I had to do several times, but the dang thing ,crude as it is, does work and is pretty sturdy as you can see.
I obviously need to practice scribing the lines on the elevation scale, which I intend to re-do someday.
Since it does not have an elevation screw, I wanted a way to keep the slide from moving when I loosen the eyepiece to move the windage, so I acquired some 3mm X 1mm micro magnets on Amazon Prime and put them in holes on the underside of the slide. I have room to add one more but five seems to be enough to hold the assembly in place with the eyepiece loosened. Unfortunately, I got too close to the edge on two of the holes and ended up cutting through the outside edge. Will try to fix that when I make the replacement slide.
It was a rewarding and very educational project.  I had a lot of help from my machinist friends including some people on this forum, so Thank You Very Much!
