Avaliable is a prized and well kept 1866 Trapdoor in 50-70 fresh off the wagon. Other than a few handling marks, this rifle can honestly be catagorized as NRA Antique Excellent. The lockpate retains full case colour hardening. The breech block and rear sight  still have full blueing ( or blackening whichever term you prefer) and the metal is in armory bright. Metal surfaces in which recive considerable wear have none and are still sharp and crisp such as the breech block, thumb latch, rear sight etc. The wood stock is orginal, solid, and has crisp edges and corners with two clear inspector marks and is a nice dark color. The bore is of course perfect in every way. The only place I have seen a rifle in this condition was at the springfield arsenal museum among the carousels of rifled muskets. Another note worth mentioning is that this is the first 1866 I have seen that has the two scalloped cuts in the breech block made in an effort to lighten its weight. All screws on the rifle are in good shape and unmarred by curious hands. Delicate springs, ejector and extractor are present and functioning.

FWIW I have not fired this rifle or ever will, the previous owner has not fired this rifle and the gentleman who retained this rifle in his large collection before him for decades couldn't recall putting anything through the rifle.

$2500 plus shipping.

Will trade for a sharps carbine in 50-70
