I need some replacement cutters, the company seems to have faded away. There was a source 3 yrs ago or so in Washington  state I believe  that had cutters. I cannot locate that supplier now. Anybody know where to get new cutters?

I believe the last time I ordered them a year ago was Dixie Arms.

Midway and of course Amazon…..

I think most folks have moved on to Ullman Precision cutters.  They told me their cutters might work on the Dem Bart handles.  Must be a hit or miss thing.  I just went ahead and bought their handles.

I just went back to look at the cutters on Dixie and looks like only the fine cutters for 22 and 24 LPI are available. All others show out of stock.

Tom,
The single line cutters are carbide but I don’t think the spacing cutters are.
Here is the link to them.

I sold all my Den Bart tools and replaced them with these.  Although I must admit, I only use them for odd jobs, no complete checkering work.  I decided a few years ago checkering was not for me! Grin

A few years ago when the Dem-Bart cutters started to dry up I changed to the Carbide Ulhman cutters and have not looked back. The 5/8" I use for lay out and clean up in figured wood. The 3/8" I use for the majority of the general clean up.

I use a MMC checkering head to cut the depth of the groove to roughly 80%, then come back with the single cutters to final depth.

Had a stock in a few months ago, a Parker Hale Mauser and had to buy a Steve Earle single line 75 degree cutter to clean up that checkering. It worked well on that stock.

Steve Earle (the gun parts guy not the singer Smiley) has them listed on his website. Look under the assorted things tab.
