Lloyd Chiswick (Classic Arms) died Monday from injuries sustained in a fall at home. He was a few days short of his 87th birthday.
I've known Lloyd for almost 60 years, first as a competitor for the rifles we both sought at the gun shows near San Jose, CA, then as a friend, employee, and supplier to my collection.
He was not a gun maker himself, but knew who to send projects to. His personal love was highly detailed, cased rifles in the classic style of the late 1930s.
Starting about ten years ago, Morris Hallowell slowly bought Lloyd's personal collection. I asked him if it was OK to link his web site, and he said: Thanks for the note---thank you for asking, but it wasn't necessary. Please feel free to provide a link to my website. Please, also, feel free to cut and paste any of my photos directly into your obituary.
