Ok, I got my calipers out again and this is what I’ve come up with, the best I can get on rim diameter is .668, chamber opening .560 and muzzle is .502. Those are the best measurements I can come up with.

Given those dimensions, you're back to something that is close to a 32 ga.  I'd try that next.

Sounds like a 50-70 liner that was not rifled. The difference would be case length. 2 1/4” for the 32 gauge and 1 3/4” for the 50-70.

Seems like a reasonable conversion in the day. Same basic liner as the other 30,000, just no grooves cut.

Those dimensions are very close to the 50-70.  I have to agree that maybe the rifling just didn't get cut after the barrel was sleeved.   SO-- there is a simple solution;  send it off to a barrel smith and have it cut to match the 50-70 twist of the original conversions, then chamber for 50-70.   That is if you want it to be a rifle and not a scattergun.   There are several shops that can do the work and some have a pretty quick turn around time.

Who could do the rifling? There is no one I know of close to me.
