Building a Hauck/Hagn. Ahead of the front face of the breech block is Hagn. Behind it is Hauck!

I have used different extractor designs with a highly modified Hauck system, with some success, but I had to try the Hagn system! It could handle ANY case, with no modification to the I extractor! This I had to see! I did not understand how the extractor worked, but the diagram gave the size and shape of the parts, so I made parts, and when I put them together, it worked. Kinda like the Cash Caddy!!  Mark DeHaas made accurate diagrams!

Functional. .223.  Cosmetics will happen at some point!

Ingenious extractor design if I understand what I am seeing. Would probably work with a rimless cartridge.
Do not see what drops the extractor for reloading.

Chuck, there is a reloading position with this extractor but I am not sure how it works. I just built it. Hagn did the thinking and I am trying to understand it!

It is an easy build requiring a simple trough in the action for the extractor to follow and simple cuts in the lever to contain the extractor. There is no further modification to the receiver or to the breech block. This has deep personal meaning for those with experience building falling block
extractors!

I need to take some pictures and try to understand and explain the design. Any help wound be appreciated! Just offhand, I think a setup for a rimless case might work but would be a bit more tricky. We already knew that!

Have you considered creating a plexiglass action to fit everything and see how it functions?
