32 ideal powder charge

Stevens 441/2. Looking to try my 32 ideal barrel on it come spring. Wondering if any one shoots this caliber,  thinking of trying 13.6 grains of 4759 on a 16 twist. 195 gr bullet. Any other suggestions on a load

The only loading data I have for the 32 Ideal, is 5.5 gr Unique, with a 150 gr bullet.

Do you know, for sure that your twist is 16? As the 32 Ideal had a slower twist? It was made for 150 gr bullets.

I think 13.6 gr 4227 is a bit to much for that case, especially with a 195 gr bullet. I think I'd start close to 10.0 gr and work up.

New Barrel. With 1-16 twist half Oct half round on a stevens 441/2 action.  Will be shooting a 25-1 lead bullet in 198 grain weight

Yea, you'd probably be fine with the 13.6 load. I thought it might be a original barrel and  chambering.

Bill, I load either 13.2 or 13.6 grains of 4759 with  200 gr bullet in my .32 Ideal.
CPA action, Douglas barrel. I’m away from home now so I can’t check my load data to verify which powder charge I use.
