1863 Sharps Lock Screw Replacement

I have a 1863 Sharps converted to 50-70, the front lock screw, that terminates under the hammer, is missing threads and not holding the lock properly. Is there a good source for lock screws or is it something that will have to be made?

I've bought several original Sharps screws, including lock screws, from Dixie; reasonable prices, even the ones you paid a bit extra for to get a lot of factory finish.

My usual  go-to source is Lodgewood Mfg. Inc.   Second choice would be S&S.  Both are good places for that sort of thing.   Dixie is OK too, but I haven't bought much from them lately.

Thank you all for your help and advice! I typically keep a couple of blank lock screws from Dixie Gun Works or Track of the Wolf for my muzzleloader s, but cannot locate them to verify if the would fit.

Never heard of Lodgewood or SS, so I will check them out. New sources for old parts are a great asset!

I have used Numrich from time to time, but their listing for a 10x32 lock bolt shows it's for an import version of a Sharps rifle, so I'm hesitant to order.

Original's are 3/16 X 28 most of the new made ones are 10X28 so if you buy new made ones you may need a 10x28 tap there only about about .005 bigger ken

Good to know, I was suspicious they would be different. I have not checked mine against a thread pitch gauge, but certainly will before I place an order. Thank you!
