Dixie Gun Works has two that might work. One is 7" long x 1 3/4" wide, the other is 7 1/4" long x 2 1/16" wide.
Both are as cast brass.

Do you happen to have the part number, all I can see are the curved plates without hooks

This is a "butt hook" I fitted to a gallery rifle. At the time I thought it might be nice to cut the plate in half, inlet the bottom half and leave the upper half wood.

You don't want to see the DGW butt plates. Weld the edges of the Zischang plate and get on with it.

Just finished prepping this plate for inletting. The designer was a sick sadistic bastard.

well, Joe, at least that guy didn't put holes for screws into the damn thing- no telling how hard that would be to get sorted out.
I use some brass castings for another hobby and cored holes are never right. never.

I've had holes not align often. I just drill the holes out in the stock and make plugs from more hardwood and glue them in the holes making them tight enough to tap in once glued. Then just drill new holes through the buttplate to make them fit the buttplate. It's quick and easy, and about all you can do if the holes don't match.

Yes, I lucked into the plates. Rough castings but very close to correct dimensions.

The larger is AP1003 @ $59.95, the smaller one mentioned is AP1004 @ $43.95. Page 176 in the 2025 catalog.

2 1/4 seems really wide but 7 inches long is huge.  Looking at the information I don’t see that spec., just the width.  Where did you see that info?  I normally wouldn’t bother looking at something like this, but I am currently looking for a specific buttplate.  So I’m checking out anything I hear about and hadn’t thought of Dixie.

Please reread the dimensions I posted.
Dimensions are listed between the part number and the price. That info is right below the pictures on page 176 of the 2025 catalog.
