I'm looking for a 38 Long Colt. Its a round nose hollow base of about 150 grain weight.
Lyman 35870
Rapine 358149
There may be others. I know Wild West Molds makes a version.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

They're also a heeled base mold.

That's Old West Bullet Moulds in Colorado. Ask Bernie Rowles if he could do a hollow base one for you.

A friend has both the Lyman and Rapine and both are hollow base molds.
Crazy as it sounds, a seriously undersize bullet with a hollow base shoots well in my rifle. My understanding is that the later factory rounds were loaded that way rather than the heel base bullet.
I would prefer to avoid the heel base style if possible to avoid yet another variable.
Oneatatime, thank you. Yes, Old West, not Wild West.
