Paper patch bullet length?

Just a very general question, I’m considering trying a paper patched bullet. 

In comparison to a grease grooved bullet, you lose diameter and weight which influences length for stability. Losing length drops more weight.

What prompted the question is when considering a bullet, I realized with 30-32 caliber bullets and the various actual diameters, a 32-35 Maynard groove diameter bullet,.316” should work as a 32-40 paper patch. Same thing .308” groove, .316 bore.

This raised the question concerning twist rate. Random numbers for example. If you’re shooting a 1.5” 250 grain .324” groove diameter bullet in. 1/16 twist, do you end up with 1.3” 225 grain patched bullet?

Related question is how well does a grooved bullet fly patched?

Not necessarily true, you lose minimal weight with Bore size PP and negligible amount with DD bullets. And grease grove slugs lose weight because of them. Bullet length is driven by rifling twist. I would not bother patching a grooved slug that is sized for the groove diameter.

Poorly worded on my part. 

Grease groove bullet, or any bullet, sized Groove diameter in a 1/16 twist. 
Same bullet is bore diameter and patched in a different barrel, also 1/16 twist.

How well would you expect it to work?
Would length need to be a factor?

It would seem spin is spin, but have been fooled by thinking before.

Simply put, patch to bore or patch to groove, back of .006" for 2 warps of paper and that would be a good starting diameter for a bullet choice. Ideally the wrapped slug would be a nice slip fit in a fired case if using a dd bullet, otherwise you will neck some neck sizing for a wrapped bore dia. choice.
