Does anyone have a Winchester 1885, Hunter in .308 ? What are your thoughts of this combination?

If you mean a Browning 1885 it must be OK because it was a factory chambering. If you mean an original Winchester single shot which we call a high wall model 1885, I'd say, no way! 62,000 psi is "stretching it" too far.

I'm sure it will be an accurate rifle.   The very first rifle that I ever shot a 10 shot one moa group @ 100m was a Browning 1885 in .270 Winchester.   It was a good gun.
