What to do?

The Zettler palm rest clamp arrived today. My fears were realized when a tack clamp interferance problem occured. There's always something.

Should I mill the clamp?

Bridge the gap with a piece of brass?

Wes,
Those rubber bands I use to hold my early forends on, (bicycle innertube) before I get the screw in... cut a couple of them, trim and shape them around the tacks, leave the tacks alone and Don't modify the rest clamp... easy peasy.

make a new brass rest clamp that can be notched for the tacks and keep the original clamp original.

Better than the rubber Wes, you usually use a leather liner anyway, just an extra piece between the two tacks.

I'm thinkin on it. All good suggestions so far. I don't want to disturb them tacks in any way. It's the only rifle I have with tack embellishment.

Jack, one tack embellish gun is enough.

Think I'm going with a chunk of heavy harness leather between the tacks. That should do the trick.

I was gonna suggest smaller tacks, but...  that might make it look tacky.
