Looking for a vintage person to ID an old Lyman sight or a younger person who is familiar with vintage Lyman sights.

This sight is marked Lyman Reg US Pat Off on the top and Pat Nov 5 1907 on the base.  The base screw is slotted and fits a dimpled block like would be used for an old Winchester scope mount.

So the vintage guy who knows vintage sights chimes in. A win win.
The globe portion is dovetailed into the base. Oldere than my other front sights.

Thanks Vall

How much you take for old beat up sight? Maybe I buy, maybe I don't. You have many inserts?

Pretty sure it is very rare. I probably traded a high wall action for it.

Not sure when or where I got that sight.  It has quite a few inserts which are the standard 17A size.

Jack, another known troublemaker...

That's a perty old beat up sight. Can't be worth much. What'r ya gonna do with it? Now that you have a shootin eye. Might best put it on one of your Winchesters.
You won't have to keep swappin sights back and forth onto all them Winchesters. That's what wears um out.

It would look better on a Ballard don’t you think. I have only 4 Ballards.  Maybe I should bundle it with my Ballard straight stock and trade for 640 acres of Idaho scrub land.

Probably going to cost more for a dovetail to target base adapter than the sight cost! Best to just give it to Joe and make it his project.

I do have 7 of those adapters and two have the Winchester dimple.  Joe will probably end up with it anyway.  I told him to get his beaver traps out.

I have sight bases. Would like to get my hands on a beaver.  Sad  I happen to know where there is a beaver.
