I haven't received any response to my question about the process for finishing stocks used by Winchester in 1890~!!

I read the article that says the regular finish is linseed oil and the shinny finish adds two coats of linseed oil with added drying agents.  Is is correct to assume that this refers to raw linseed oil for the regular finish and BLO for the shinny finish?
