32 rimfire brass

Im getting ready to venture down the road of making some 32 rimfire brass from 327 mag. I just purchased another #2 rolling block. Specifically looking for a few 32 XL cases to copy and try out. I really want to shoot this rifle so looking for a few to expedite the process.

I use 32  colt brass.  It has the same dimensions as the 32 rimfire. I just chuck it up on a friends lathe off center and mill out the space for a 22 blank.

The 32 rimfire long and extra long are two different cartridges. I’m thinking if it’s worth the trouble to make them, best to make what’s going to be accurate. How many loadings do you get from the cases?

Chances are good that you don't have to bore an eccentric hole in the case for the .22 blank. I make my .32 RF cases (from .32 Colt by way of swaging .32 S&W brass) by drilling the hole and rim recess on center in a lathe, and subsequently the rim of the blank is subtended by my rimfire firing pin. (A segment of the parent case's rim is also milled/filed so as not to be impinged by the rimfire firing pin, necessitating correct orientation in the chamber before firing.)

I have lost count, I don’t resize the cases and they are tight enough to hold the heeled 32 caliber bullets.  I suspect I’ve shot each case 10-15 times with a mild load of 9 grains of 3F. I just use soap and water to clean them.  Also, I don’t use full power .22 blanks but rather I pull the bullets on .22 shorts, dump the powder and use the primed case as my primer. I started this as I could not find.22 blanks.  The .22 short case works well. Hope this helps.

I have since purchased a small lathe and will try to your method. I only have 20 of the original cases I made so a few more may be in order.  Thanks, Steve
