35 / 40 Lucas loads

I have on hand IMR 4198 , AA2495 shooting a Lyman 358 250gr cast 20/1
all cases have been fire formed with a 180 gr cast bullet 7.5g Unique
Rifle is a Remington Rolling block with new 1/10 twist KS Arms Barrel
Looking for a good starting load  to try...any help would be appreciated.

Not a great deal different than a 38/55 and the SD of the 250 gr .358, isn't any different than a 270 gr .376 bullet.

So, what I would do, is find 38/55 data for a 270 gr bullet, start 1.5 gr less and set up your chrono. Then work a load up for best accuracy. Stay under 1500 fps, with PB bullets.
