I’m a firm believer in epoxy and gun stocks, especially for sealing up the end grain in the tang and head area.  But I had an issue with Tony’s stock. When I fitted the wood to the frame and tang of his stock, I fit it so the tang was, not tight…but close, and it cracked from shrinkage. The reason I suggested not fitting the tang too tight or bedding it, is because I’m guessing, Jordan’s climate is very similar to here in NW Iowa.  Our humidity runs from 90+ in the summer to under 20% indoors in the winter.  I see wood move lots in my shop with these changes, even with heat and air conditioning.  If his climate or storage is more consistent it’s a different story.  One things to consider is that it can always be bedded around the tang.  That said, I would definitely bed the area around the frame recess, but, again that can also be done later if it is needed.
