Just picking up and transferring the snug fitting alignment pin holes from the barrel to false muzzle would be a major chore.
Looks like Wes drilled the alignment pin holes in the barrel from the false muzzle after aligning the bore. This is still a delicate job done well.

Here is a target shot by a left handed Norwegian with the Ballard pictured. Back in 05. Time sure flies.

Yes that is difficult. If you mean fitting a new smooth false muzzle to a barrel with holes in it. I have done it by making transfer punches for each hole then sliding a smooth false muzzle onto them and tapping the new false muzzle with a hammer to mark. There can be complications like maybe the holes are not all the same depth. Finding dead center with the mill is critical and time consuming. Helps to be a weird egg...
