Tellier Mark 1 Poly Foam Wad cutter (pat pending)

Wayne Tellier, the Canadian terrorist  (long story, don't ask) gave me one of his razor blade holders that he printed on a 3D printer that cuts 1/4" foam backer rod for use in his 25 cal loads.  Always up for trying something new. I ordered 100 feet of the material from eBay for $15.  I set up a cutting board today and cut a few.  Now I will have to test these against the floral foam wads that I have been using successfully.

Great idea! Where might I obtain one of these nifty tools?

I've been using a punch to make them from foam pipe insulation.

It is sharp. I got two small cuts inserting the blades. I will see if Wayne wants to sell them.

Tools like that keep the blood gods happy.   Wink

I had a fellow worker one time explain that when you work around machinery like we do, if you donate a small amount of blood constantly, nicks and scratches, it keeps you on your toes and you avoid the bigger ones that take parts...  it worked 35 years for him, cancer got him.

I worked at a mill work company in Tacoma. I was just out of the army and on the swing shift there were 2 guys just out of high school that started about the time I did. One sawed off the finger tips on his right hand and a week later the other sawed 90% through his left wrist.  That’s when I decided to stay away from industrial machinery.

Does the "backer rod" come in other handy diameters
such as 5/16, 3/8, etc?
Meanwhile, I have been cookhcutting my foam wads
with my cases which are inside chamfered.
I cut them from 1/4" thick foam housewrap
Others cut thin slabs of foam from blocks of floral foam
and then "cookie cut" them

I have been using floral foam but it is gritty.  A quick search shows it in most any size from 1/8" to 1"

I use cotton from cotton balls. Cheap, no cuts.
Some people at a shoot ask me what it is. I tell them it’s a magic dust that makes snow in July.
