Does anybody have experience with JES reboring?  Do they do target quality work?

I had them bore out a 25 caliber barrel to a 50-70 and it shoots like a dream!  Tom

If a 6 star rating was possible I'd give it to them. Jessie does quality work and has the fastest turnaround time I've ever experienced. He does alot of calibers that are not listed on his site so if you have any idea about something give him a call. I would send him another project in a heartbeat.

Usually the phone goes to voicemail and Jess calls you back. I have two barrels there now for reboring, one for 44 magnum and one for 44-40. Top notch work and very fast turn around typically.

They are great to work with. The work was top notch and completed on time. I just had a circa 1960 Remington 760 30-06 carbine rebored to 35 Whelan. Cost was reasonable and worth every penny! I am very pleased!  It's now a VERY accurate nail pounder rifle Smiley

They did a 1894 Win from 30 cal to 38-55 with three groove rifling a few years ago and it shot better than I could. He talked me into the three groove rifling and he was right...

They re-bored my Shiloh Sharps to .45 for me. I stipulated a 16 twist but when I got the barrel back it was 18. So I called and asked about it. The fellow on the phone told me he asked some buddies about the twist and they said 18 was best so that's what he did. Also I asked him why the lands were slanted one way on top and not square with the bore. The fellow told me he made the rifling exactly like Sharps did in the old days. But it is 5 groove rather than 6 like the originals. I chambered the barrel with a Manson 45-90 match reamer and commenced to shooting the rifle testing loads. Barrel kept leading bad near the muzzle. Chuck had a bore scope so we took a look and found burrs along the tops of the lands where it was gathering lead. I finally rolled a bunch of bullets in grinding compound and shot them through the rifle. Stopped leading and shoots excellent now. My 2nd experience with JES was when I called them and asked if they could re-bore my ringed 33-47 Darr false muzzle barrel. They said no because of the false muzzle. I told the fellow that the false muzzle could be soldered on or glued and that it should be no problem. He told me that if it's so easy I should do it myself. So I had Ron Smith do the re-bore. Ron said it was a easy and it shoots very accurate. I won't say anything bad about JES. Their service was fast and affordable.
