Like the title says….
Haven’t seen anything reasonable (condition OR price) on the auction sites.
Just curious, what is a reasonable price for such an item?
Thanks

I was in the same situation a few yrs ago. I ended up getting another 44 in 25/21, missmatched #'s and stock fit for fire wood. A block (If or when you find one) will run maybe $125 - $150.

The centerfire blocks do come up for sale occasionally on ebay. There was one listed on ebay back in April that sold for $97.65. However, it might be several years before one comes up for sale on ebay again.

Is the 25-10SS rimfire or center ? I have one out of a 25-10 and I want to make it a .22, but can’t find one.

Give Lee Shaver a call, I think he made breechblocks for 44s at one point.

The .25-10 is a rimfire, and many times the block will work fine for .22, although you may need to make a new firing pin to have the striking area the right shape on the .22.  Try it, you'll most likely be pleasantly surprised.

I have a centerfire 44 action in my stuff, if I remember to do it, I'll post it up for sale in July when I'm back from shooting Quigley.

He did. I bought one for around $200. Very nicely made, but it was for a later 44 with 6 o'clock extractor and I needed one for an early 7 o'clock extractor gun. Luckily a local guy offered to swap for his early CF breech block for mine and we both cured a need.

The conversion of my early 44 from .32 Long RF to .32 Long Colt via a simple breech block swap resulted in it being easily shootable again:

I didn’t realize that the block would be different - early/late. I’ll have to check what I have.
My idea was to take my .25rf and try both types of conversion cartridges based on .22 hornet cases rf and cf, and see if one is better than the other, without modifying the nice original gun that I have. It’s a sporter, not anything terribly special, Except it’s all original and I don’t want to lose that. So I want to keep the rf block.
