I use Bob Seipp, he has put in thicker crosshairs for me on 3 scopes, as my eye's are not to good. Waiting now for a Unertl I sent to him. He doe's excellent work. 973-714-7958. He's in Pa.

Does Bob do scope repairs like polishing lens or just install crosshairs?

There used to be several people that arctally took old target scopes apart, clened and polished the lens, and returned a nice, rebuilt scope but I don't know if anyone does that anymore.

Mike at Iron Sight in Tulsa does that, including lens relamination.

He has done several scopes for me.

85lc, I think he does most anything in scope repair. A quick call would tell you.  Dale.

Optical Services in New Mexico has bumped two of my Unertl's. Top quality work. This is the late Bill Ackerman's shop ( The El Paso Weaver guru ) now run by his Daughter Cheryl who grew up in the business. I recall Frank Pachmayr always used Ackerman so that says volumes. Like all top shelf shops you'll need to get in line but they are very familiar with Unertl's.

There is a gentleman on E-Bay that sells the wires, and it is not hard to replace the crosshairs.   Unless you lose one of the miniscule screws.....

I ended up buying an assortment to find the correct one.....

I now do the work in a box....

The glue in cross-hairs are a bit more of a challenge to align and hold till the epoxy sets up

Thanks for all the replies! Just sent my crosshair cartridge to Bob Siepp.  We have many friends in common and he has been doing scope repair for 50 years.  Right now the turn around is between 1 and 2 weeks!!!

I recommend NOT using Iron Sights.

Before sending my Stevens 475 to them in 2020, I   told the that I could see light through the scope but the image wasn’t clear and that it may need crosshairs.

I was told that they could service the scope for $175 so I sent the Stevens to them in July 2020.

Well, numerous emails and phone calls later, the scope was still sitting on Mike’s desk.

Almost 5 years later, I finally told them to return my money and my scope as sent to them.  They returned part of the money and the scope with loose lens.

I sent my Unertl reticle cell to Bob Siepp on a Tuesday for new crosshairs,  Received it the following Monday! The work was perfect and I would recommend him for any kind of work on our older scopes.  He is a real gentleman and has been doing this work for 50 years! His contact info is: (973) 714-7958
