Is there a source for Hepburn "match grade" butt plates? Maybe some castings or something close that would work?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

If you're referring to the Hepburn Match A and B buttplates you can use the small Farrow style the Ballard rifles use and they're identical, or very close.
Not sure who has them today, but I've gotten them from Rodney in the past.

The sizes vary a lot I have been looking for one to fit on a nice heavy barreled 32-40 that has a shotgun butt. Have tried three originals with no luck.

Afraid Rodney is "out of business" as he has sold all his casting business so unless someone out there has one I guess I too am out of business lol...

If the plate you are wanting is the one in these pictures, I would think this CPA would work with a little modification of the top extension.  It’s the one I was going to use on my Walker build, but presently looking at changing what I’m doing with the butt plate in it.

Thanks everyone. A gentleman contacted me with an original and I have purchased it but the CPA looks really good too.

My original Match A and B Hepburns have a point at the top like a Ballard scheutzen model has, so the CPA would work with a newly built stock, but isn't quite like a Hepburn.
