There's a Pope .39 caliber mold on eBay that you can have for $1550.00.

Is this from the current pope or the one who recently passed?

I haven’t lost all my marbles yet but there is definitely a hole in the bag somewhere.

Either way, it must be sacred.

Never paid over $375 for any of the ones I have. Lots of guys asking ridiculous prices, but I don't see anyone paying those high prices.

The only reason I looked at that mold at all is that I have a Hepburn with a Stevens Pope .39 caliber barrel. I have two molds with it, but it would be nice to have a Pope mold. I wonder how many .39 barrels he made?

Good question. I've never seen a .39 Pope barrel myself at auctions, or gun shows. Didn't even know they existed.
Is yours based on a .38-55 chamber or what cartridge?

It is based on the .38-55..395 groove. It's a shooter.

Sounds like a neat rifle and barrel!
I have a couple scheutzen rifles with factory Ballard .40-63 barrels and always wondered who ordered a scheutzen rifle in that big cartridge? But after shooting them a lot with 350 gr. bullets I discovered they're not that much different than .38-55 chambered rifles.

Greetings,

I looked at the three moulds.

I like the idea of the hole drilled marked "wax" for lubricating.

Now to find my drill index.....

Cheers,

Dave
